An interesting article that asks the question: If an elected official is running for a higher office and doing so is causing them to be absent from their post, should they be required to step down -- at least temporarily?
I believe this is a complex issue but I also am positive that for a person to run for a higher office, it absolutely requires a lot of attention and that the attention it is given directly takes away from their elected responsibilities.
I will lay it out plainly. Either they are negleting their responsibilities as I believe or in fact their job is a do nothing, think nothing job in the first place.
